# Set up your profile

Your profile is public and stored on-chain in the `ModulariumProfile` contract, so other apps can read it too. Open your profile page and click **Edit profile**.

| Banner Image | Uploaded to IPFS. |
| Profile Picture | Uploaded to IPFS. If you don't set one, an identicon generated from your address is shown. |
| Username | Your profile URL, `/profile/<username>`. Without one, your profile lives at `/profile/<address>`. 3–30 characters: `a-z`, `0-9`, `_`, `-`. Usernames are unique, first come first served. |
| Display Name | Free text, shown in place of your address. |
| Bio | Free text. |
| Links | Any number of links, each typed as Website, X, Instagram or Farcaster. |

Click save to send one transaction that writes only the fields you changed.

Changing your username releases the old one immediately, and anyone can then claim it.

## Pre-registered artists

Modularium can pre-fill a profile for an artist who hasn't set one up yet. This only works on a profile that is completely empty. Once you edit your profile, it is fully yours, and Modularium can't change it.
