# Create tokens

Go to [`/create`](https://sepolia.modularium.art/create) and pick a collection from **Create or Select a Collection**. The dropdown lists every collection you own or hold a role in. To create a token you need the **Creator** role, which collection owners have by default.

On a collection page, **Create Token** in the creator menu opens `/create?collection=<address>` with the collection already selected.

## Media

| Mode | Accepted files | Notes |

| Single file | `.gif .jpg .jpeg .png .svg .mp4 .webm .glb .mp3 .wav .flac .pdf .zip` | Files that aren't images, such as audio, video and 3D, need a **Cover Image** (`.gif .jpg .jpeg .png .svg`). |
| Gallery (multiple images) | `.gif .jpg .jpeg .png .webp` | Turn on **Gallery** to add several images, each with its own title. The first image is the cover unless you upload one. |

Files are uploaded to IPFS as soon as you add them, 32MB max per file. You can preview and zoom before you create.

| Attributes | Optional trait/value pairs, shown on the token page and used by the collection page's filters. |

If your work contains nudity, graphic violence or other sensitive content, add the **nsfw** tag. Untagged sensitive work may be removed from the marketplace.

## ERC-1155 supply

| Field | Notes |

| Initial Mint Amount | How many editions are minted to your wallet right away. |
| Max Supply | Hard cap enforced by the contract. Tick **No Limit** for an open edition. |

If the initial mint uses up the whole max supply, there's nothing left for a public mint. Raise the max supply to [open one](/create/selling#public-mint-erc-1155).

## Create

Click **CREATE NFT**. A progress dialog walks through three steps: preparing the metadata, signing in your wallet, and waiting for confirmation. If you also chose to [list or open a public mint](/create/selling), that happens in the same transaction.

The token's metadata (name, description, media links, license, tags, attributes) is written to the contract on-chain. See [On-chain metadata](/developers/metadata).
