# Drop cheat sheet

Common ways to release work on Modularium, and exactly what to fill in on the [create page](https://sepolia.modularium.art/create) for each one. Anything not listed can stay at its default. Prices are examples. To add a **Requirement** row, click **+ ADD REQUIREMENT** under **Open a Public Mint**.

| I want to… | Use |
| --- | --- |
| Sell a single one-of-a-kind piece | [1/1 sale](#11-sale) |
| Sell a fixed number of copies | [Limited edition](#limited-edition) |
| Sell as many copies as people want, for a limited time | [Timed open edition](#timed-open-edition) |
| Give copies away | [Free mint](#free-mint) |
| Announce now, open the mint later | [Scheduled drop](#scheduled-drop) |
| Reward my existing collectors | [Holders-only mint](#holders-only-mint) |
| Let collectors trade in old pieces for a new one | [Burn to redeem](#burn-to-redeem) |
| Reward collectors who commit to holding | [Lock to mint](#lock-to-mint) |
| Combine several of these | [Mix and match](#mix-and-match) |

Every drop except the 1/1 sale needs an **ERC-1155** collection. See [Words to know](/start/glossary#edition-erc-1155) if you're unsure which you have.

## 1/1 sale

One unique piece, sold at a fixed price.

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Collection | An **ERC-721** collection |
| List on Marketplace | On |
| List Price | `0.5` |
| Listing Expiration | **No End Date**, or a date |

Collectors can still make offers below your price. You'll find them on the piece's page and in your profile's **\[OFFERS]** tab.

## Limited edition

A fixed number of copies, such as 100 at 0.01 each.

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Initial Mint Amount | `0`, or a few to keep for yourself (artist's proofs) |
| Max Supply | `100` |
| Open a Public Mint | On |
| Mint Price | `0.01` |
| Max Mints | Leave blank. It defaults to whatever is left after your initial mint. |
| Max Per Wallet | `0` for no limit, or `2` to spread copies around |

## Timed open edition

Anyone can mint as many as they like until the window closes. The final supply is however many were minted.

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Initial Mint Amount | `1` (yours) |
| Max Supply | Tick **No Limit** |
| Open a Public Mint | On |
| Mint Price | `0.005` |
| Mint End | 24 hours or 7 days from now |
| Max Mints | Leave blank (unlimited) |

## Free mint

A gift to your community. Collectors pay only gas.

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Max Supply | `500`, or **No Limit** |
| Open a Public Mint | On |
| Mint Price | `0` |
| Max Per Wallet | `1` |

:::tip
Free mints attract bots. Setting **Max Per Wallet** to `1` helps, and combining it with a [holders-only](#holders-only-mint) requirement helps more.
:::

## Scheduled drop

Create the piece now, share the link, and open minting at a set time. Use any of the drop setups above, plus:

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Mint Start | The date and time the drop opens |
| Mint End | Optional closing time |

Minting opens automatically at the start time.

## Holders-only mint

Only people who own a piece from one of your earlier collections can mint. Nothing happens to the piece they hold.

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Open a Public Mint | On |
| Mint Price | `0` for a thank-you gift, or a price |
| Max Per Wallet | `1` |
| Requirement | Collectors must **Hold** · Collection: *your earlier collection* · Tokens: **Any token in this collection** · Amount: `1` |

:::info
**Max Per Wallet** limits each wallet, not each token held. A collector who moves their piece to a second wallet could mint again. For one mint per piece, use [Burn to redeem](#burn-to-redeem) or [Lock to mint](#lock-to-mint).
:::

## Burn to redeem

Collectors destroy pieces they own to get the new one, for example "burn 3 Seeds to grow a Flower". This is also the usual way to redeem a physical print or an upgrade.

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Max Supply | **No Limit**. Supply is limited by how many inputs exist. |
| Open a Public Mint | On |
| Mint Price | `0` |
| Requirement | Collectors must **Burn** · Collection: *Seeds* · Tokens: **Any token in this collection** · Amount: `3` |

To accept only certain pieces, such as a "rare" subset, choose **Specific tokens** and pick them.

:::warning
Burning is permanent. Tokens from collections that can't burn are sent to the dead address instead. That works for most collections, but outside collections aren't guaranteed to allow it, so try a test mint first if your input isn't a Modularium collection. See [Mint requirements](/create/recipes#rules-for-self-serve-recipes).
:::

## Lock to mint

Collectors freeze a piece they own for a while to mint the new one. They keep the piece, but can't sell, move or reuse it until it thaws.

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Open a Public Mint | On |
| Mint Price | `0` |
| Requirement | Collectors must **Freeze** · Collection: *your earlier collection* · Tokens: **Any token in this collection** · Amount: `1` · Frozen for (days): `30` |

Freezing only works with Modularium collections. When the time is up, collectors thaw their piece from the **\[FROZEN]** tab on their profile.

## Mix and match

Requirements stack, and every one must be met on each mint. For example, "hold a Gardener, burn 2 Seeds, and pay 0.01":

| Field | Set to |
| --- | --- |
| Mint Price | `0.01` |
| Requirement 1 | **Hold** · *Gardeners* · Any token · `1` |
| Requirement 2 | **Burn** · *Seeds* · Any token · `2` |

Each mint gives the collector one copy. To let them mint more, raise **Max Per Wallet**.

## After launch

* **Mint more for yourself:** on the piece's page, open the creator menu and choose **Mint More**.
* **End a drop early:** go to the **\[DROPS]** tab on your profile and click **CANCEL**.
* **Change the details:** use **Edit Metadata** in the creator menu. See [Managing collections and tokens](/create/manage).
