# Your first NFT

This guide takes you from an image on your computer to a finished NFT in your wallet. Plan on about five minutes.

**What you need:** a crypto wallet with a little money in it to pay network fees (often called gas), and the artwork you want to publish.

::::steps
## Connect your wallet

Go to [modularium.art](https://sepolia.modularium.art) and click **CONNECT WALLET** in the top right.

## Set up your profile (optional, but nice)

Open your profile and click **Edit profile**. Choose a username, add a picture and a short bio. Collectors will see these next to your work.

[More about profiles →](/create/profile)

## Make a collection

Every piece of art belongs to a **collection**, which works like a series or a body of work. Go to [`/create`](https://sepolia.modularium.art/create), open the collection menu, and choose **Create a Collection**.

* **Name** it, and add an image and a description if you like.
* Pick an **Asset Type**:
  * **ERC-721** if every piece is one of a kind (a 1/1).
  * **ERC-1155** if you want to sell several copies (editions) of each piece.
* Leave **Royalty %** at 5%, or change it. This is your share every time your work is resold.

Click **CREATE COLLECTION** and approve it in your wallet.

:::tip
You can't change the asset type after the collection is created, so if you're unsure, think about whether you'll ever want to sell copies.
:::

## Add your art

With your new collection selected:

1. Upload your file. Images, video, audio, 3D models and PDFs all work, up to 32MB.
2. Give it a **name** and a **description**.
3. If it's an edition, choose how many copies to keep for yourself and how many can ever exist.

## Create it

Click **CREATE NFT** and approve it in your wallet. When it's confirmed, the NFT is in your wallet and shows up on your profile and your collection page.
::::

## What's next?

* **Sell it.** For a 1/1, turn on **List on Marketplace** when you create it, or list it later from its page. For editions, see [Run a drop](/start/run-a-drop).
* **Change something.** Until you lock it, you can still edit your NFT's name, description and image. See [Managing collections and tokens](/create/manage).
